Two Decades in Business
Looking back over nearly two decades in business, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed. There have been many highs and lows. Running a business isn’t a straight line. It’s messy, unpredictable, and at times uncomfortable. But it’s also deeply rewarding.
If there’s one lesson that stands out above the rest, it’s this: persistence wins the race. Not talent. Not luck. Not even timing. Just showing up, again and again, especially when things don’t go to plan. The days when motivation is low, when a project falls through, when a key member of staff leaves the business, or when you take a financial hit – those are the days that matter most.
What I’m trying to say is this – it’s okay to fail. It’s okay to make the wrong move. It’s okay to question your sanity. What isn’t okay is refusing to learn and adapt as best you can in that moment. Every mistake carries a lesson, but we need to look for it. Understanding what went wrong, adjusting, and moving forward with awareness and knowledge – now that’s growth!
I’ve always believed that business is less about quick wins and more about long-term thinking. A strong brand identity is built on reputation, relationships, resilience, consistency, and staying true to your values. These are things you can only develop over time, through hard work and persistence.
If you’re a decade or two into your own business journey and feeling tired or lacking motivation, you’re not alone. But this stage is where real character is built. It’s where experience meets resilience. Sometimes you don’t need a complete reinvention – you just need to reconnect with why you started in the first place.
Best wishes, and good luck!
